Is there a ratio of residents/fellows to a coordinator?

+1 vote
Is there a ratio of residents/fellows to a coordinator? As a new coordinator for a "large" program (35 residents) I wonder if there is anything in ACGME that states the administrative support ratio for the size of a program?

Nothing from ACGME

Nationally published survey data suggest ~1:12-15

It's not in the common requirements, but sometimes program requirements will state something regarding how much admin support is needed by size. General surgery suggests additional support for coordinators that have more than 25 residents. I have 70 residents in my program, and just got an admin assistant to help me a few years ago thanks to that suggestion.  She helps with busy work like verifications and assists with recruitment which is very helpful given the size of my program.

It depends on your specialty. Radiology does not; Pediatrics does. You'll have to check your specialty's ACGME program requirements.
